There are many qualities that distinguish our homes from those of larger development firms: their ecological soundness, their fine craftsmanship, their capacity to adapt to the needs of the owner. These are all results of our site-specific approach; instead of returning to the same design again and again, we see each home as an individual project with its own story.
This process can take many different forms. While developing Evertson Hill, for instance, we turned to the Smithfield Presbyterian Church and other local examples of Greek Revival architecture, as well as historic texts like the designs of 19th-century carpenter Asher Benjamin. While developing CountryLoft, we studied the industrial aesthetic of 1970s SoHo and discovered ways of adapting it to a different context, while at the same time pushing the envelope of foward-thinking green building techniques. Whether the home is a tranquil country estate, a chic urban apartment or an experimental prefab design, every project is guided by our unique perspective.
