Petrides Homes LLC is a New York City-based residential design and development firm.  We have one guiding principle: we build only what we would live in ourselves. We believe that the Featured Home on this website, Evertson Hill, illustrates this principle.

We offer homes in two ways:  first, we offer completed homes that we have designed and built, such as the Featured Home, which is made available for purchase in move-in condition, even including the furnishings depicted.

The second way is to design and build a custom home for a client.  In that case, we work closely with the client to address his or her needs.  Nevertheless, our standard of only doing what we would live in ourselves still applies, and we will turn away assignments where we feel the client’s goals and ours do not coincide.  In 2007, we turned away more clients than we accepted.

Generally, we do not offer architectural design services without building as we prefer to control the quality of what is produced.   We never offer construction services that do not employ our design work.

Principal

George’s exposure to architecture and construction started early, through his family:  his parents were involved in residential and retail development from the early 1960s, while his uncle, a well-respected architect, introduced him to some fundamentals of architecture in his early teen years.  In college, George studied architecture and the liberal arts, graduating from Harvard College with honors in 1985.

After college, George had a successful first career in investment banking, starting as a financial analyst in Dillon Read’s mergers group and concluding his first career as a Managing Director in Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette’s mergers group in 2000.  During that period he earned two masters degrees from Stanford University:  an MBA and an MA in economics of developing countries.
